Jeff Mabee

This blog is for all the friends and family of Jeff Mabee to remember Jeff by posting their memories, thoughts, and prayers. Jeff died after a long battle with cancer on August 5th, 2009. While we know Jeff is no longer suffering and is now with our Lord Jesus, we will still miss him greatly.

  1. Jeff was a dear friend and one I will again see in heaven. He was courageous and faithful until the very end. The strength, courage, and example of faith we all learned throughout this ordeal, is a great testimony, of loving God and trusting him no matter what. My heart goes out to Kathy, Justin, Barbie and the Mabee family.
    God Bless

  2. What I enjoyed about Jeff was that he was not bashful about challenging my thoughts or opinions. Not with the intent of inputing his opinions or thoughts however, supporting me to be sure that I was looking for God's will.

  3. Jeff was certainly an out-of-the-box thinker. He was really good at taking an idea and expanding it, helping those around him consider things they hadn't thought of. He had a solid grip on God, and he knew where he was going. He inspired a lot of confidence in who God is, and kept an eye toward the welfare of the Body even as he prepared to leave. As part of the Worship Team, I appreciated his creativity in his music, even when it took us places we didn't know we were going that morning. :-)

  4. You know how special Jeff was. An angel on earth. I called Jeff one day after praying for a miracle healing for him and said "Jeff God just told me that he did create a miracle....he created YOU...for us. That is THE miracle!"
Then...I called him one day and said "Jeff, God wants me to ask you what the one word is." And immediately he said "LOVE of course!!!!!" And that is one of Jeff's message to us....to LOVE.
I am praying for Kathy, Justin, Barbie and for all of us during this difficult time.
Thank God for Jeff and for all of his love and lessons. We will remember him forever.
    We love you all,

  5. Jeff meant a lot to me because he taught me that everything in life is not easy and that you must do your best to get through life's challenges. His music was awesome and I will miss him. I am praying for the Mabee family.

  6. I will miss our "discussions" about canyon roads in the middle of nowhere, days sitting on the boat sipping a cold one eating peanutbutter & jelly sandwiches, sailing, and his openess to discuss just about anything. I know we will all be together someday, I just don't like this separation and waiting. I miss you Jeff... Steve Horn

  7. Jeff, I believe, was a perfect example of how God wants us all to live. Selfless and full of love. I remember walking into Sunday services and seeing Jeff's bright smile on stage playing his guitar and singing with his angelic voice.I will miss Jeff dearly. To Kathy, Justin, and Barbie, you guys are in my thoughs and prayers. I will always be a phone call away.

    Love,

  10. I had the privilege of meeting Jeff as God led me to Life Spring to be his help in time of need. I remember the first time talking on the phone as Jeff was navigating mountain roads on his way to the Men's retreat. Jeff has been a great example of holding on to God and completely relying upon His strength to carry out what God called Jeff to do. Although I miss him here on earth, I am so joyful for him that he no longer is in pain and actually in the presence of the Holy God he served. He is now part of the cloud of witnesses that cheer on his family, his church family, and his brothers and sisters in Christ. Jeff, we'll see you soon (in the scheme of eternity.)
Barbie, Justin, and Kathy, if there is anything you need from Charlene and I, and as I'm sure, the rest of your church family, we are there for you. God has plans for you, and we're there to help you carry them out.
    All of our love,
    Keith & Charlene

  11. "Passion" is the word I think of when I think of Jeff. He was passionate about everything; his family, music, sailing, his friends, current events, playing sports or board games; there was no riding the fence for him! You could see his passion overflowing when he was in the middle of worshipping the Lord with his talents on Sunday mornings.

Your family and friends will miss you terribly until we can all unite again someday, but we know that your Lord is praising you....."well done my good and faithful servant!"

  12. We attended Life Spring's Christmas Eve program in Dec. 2002 and there was Jeff up on the stage playing the keyboard and singing. At that time I did not know that in just a few weeks I would be up on the same stage singing with Jeff and would continue to do so until he was not able to sing anymore due to his illness. Working with him was often unpredictable and there were times when we butted heads over musical ideas, but I can say that we had a great friendship and really enjoyed singing together and playing in the band, something I will truly miss. It was a blessing to be able to join Jeff and his family at Denny's on Christmas Eve this past year and this was a great comfort in Paul's absence. I know they are both singing in heaven now.

  13. Keep the comments coming!! I'll miss Jeff a lot, but at least can look in the mirror and see his likeness. I hope he can see through my eyes, especially when we share family moments together. Jeff was a great role model and mentor, and always had the last word on any topic, whether he was right or not....usually he was close to being right. I hope he is not up there discussing too many issues with the almighty. We could all be in trouble when we get there! Prayers always for Kathy and the kids. They are super special.

I googled Jeff's name because we're trying to find old friends for a CSUF Theatre reunion. I was so sad to find this. He will be missed.
